Visit Chail, Himachal Pradesh For Peace & Serenity

DSC_2383
I am less of the social woman ( I love my family and friends, the ones reading it. No Offence!).  Well, I don’t hate humankind, but once in a while, I want to visit a place all alone where I can live with locals, get rich experiences and be on my own, without even my cell phone!
So one night, just before my birthday I just decided to escape with few of my friends, but I never wanted to go to a crowded place, so Chail it was.

Birthday lunch scenes… Took a halt at one of the local food joints and this was the view from our tables. Do I need to say that it was the perfect birthday lunch ever?
Do you know: Chail was born When Bhupinder Singh, Maharaja of Patiala was expelled from Shimla – The Summer Capital of the British India, he decided to create his own capital for the warm months. The little village of Chail was perfect. It lay surrounded by magnificent deodar forests; Shimla was in the direct vision and most importantly, Chail at 2226 m was somewhat higher than British controlled Shimla, ( Source: Himachal Tourism).
This serene village is just 45 km from Shimla towards Kufri and at the height of 2226 meter is higher than the state capital, Shimla. Chail overlooks Sutlej valley and at night one can even spot Shimla and Kasauli. Well kept and maintained, it has oak and pine trees along with green grasslands and is nothing less than a paradise for nature lovers. The roads were narrow yet beautiful; I lost track of time while I was walking and admiring the beauty of the place.

Roads were narrow, we parked our car near this milestone, as the road was a bit wide here. Needless to say we had a nice photo session!

You can reach Chail by:
Air: Nearest airport is at Shimla (which is 23kms from the city),  one can take a taxi for 68kms. The complete journey from the airport to Chail takes around 2 hours.
Road: Chail has an excellent connectivity by road. Take NH22 from Chandigarh/ Kalka towards Shimla and follow the signboards on the
